Superstar Wonderful Weirdo |

(I have to say I borrowed the title of this page from one of Alanis Morissette's old songs. I wouldn't be sued for doing so, would I? I mean, it's not like she has copyright to the phrase, right?) |

I don't really enjoy talking about myself. But I do love sharing myself with people. Dunno why. Maybe it's because, for me, doing so is one way of connecting with kindred spirits. I was born on July 19. I'm on the Cancer-Leo cusp (one of my friends, Lea, is into astrology and all the esoteric stuff so I am quite familiar with these things), which is often a convenient excuse for my self-diagnosed neuroses. What could be more neurotic than the watery and receptive influences of the moon (Cancer) and the fiery, aggressive characteristics of the sun (Leo) put together in one person? But if those traits (go check out some astrology sites if you have no clue as to the typical traits of each sun sign) can be balanced, what would you have? One of the wonders of God's own creations (to quote Natalie Merchant). Of course, each creature is a wonderfully amazing creation of God. But, I digress. Wouldn't it be amazing if those traits could be balanced? That's why I'm working my buns off to make the contrasts actually complement each other. I've taken some time off to sort things out. I don't want to be like a chicken without its head running around. I realized I have to stop - just stop - for a while and find out who I really am. Although I still "haven't got it all figured out just yet," I think I'm getting there.

"With love, with patience and with faith, she'll make her way." "Wonder," Natalie Merchant

Loves Reading. With all the time in the world, I am able to catch up on my reading. I hoarded books when I was able to get them but not able to read (i.e. when I had the resources to buy anything I wanted and no time to do the things I really enjoyed) any. I've recently read and enjoyed and loved: Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins (hilarious and insightful. almost every page made me LOL!) I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb (bawled my eyes out!) The Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav (enlightening. read it twice already.) An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness by Kaye Redfield Jamison The Secret of Shambhala by James Redfield To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (yes, I just read it a couple of months ago. was sorry I didn't read it sooner.) In The Meantime: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want by Iyanla Vanzant I still have lots of books to read (part of my stash), and even more on my wish list (which I'm going to get soon!). I'm one happy little proud bookworm!
I enjoy different types of music, but I love Alanis Morissette. I also like listening to Natalie Merchant, Lauryn Hill, Macy Gray, Sixpence None the Richer, Barbie's Cradle (a local band), Carole King and many others. Of course, I couldn't end this portion without professing my love for "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman"! I can relate to both Lois and Clark, and three years after the show's been cancelled, I'm still hooked! Unfortunately for me, I only have a few episodes on tape, and it's not being shown here in the Philippines anymore. I have to calm my LCWS (that's Lois & Clark Withdrawal Syndrome) by going over some fabulous L&C websites. Also, it helps that I (like most, if not all, FOLCs - Fans of Lois & Clark) know lots of the dialogs/scenes by heart. There are lots of other people and things I love, but I don't have any more space here. So I guess you'll just have to click on this link: J'aime... |
