For your information (if you don't want to be informed, I'm going to tell you anyway. Hah!), I'm in Manila, Philippines. The Philippines, in Southeast Asia, is an archipelago made up of around 7,100 islands. I could go on and tell you all about this beautiful country, but as it is, I've already spent so much time sitting here making this website (hey, I can't do this the entire day, you know! I have to get back to my reading.). So I suggest you click on the link below. I surfed around for the most informative site on the Philippines, and I found this. The pages in that site are quite text-heavy, that is, it's quite a read, but if it's information you want, then it's what you're going to get. Mabuhay Philippines! I went to the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, where I got my degree in journalism. I love U.P. Diliman. The old and the more modern halls of learning, the people, the wide spaces, the trees...sigh! And, most importantly, I love the freedom U.P. gave me (or made me realize I already have, and therefore, should exercise). While I was studying there, I felt free enough to be myself no matter what. I guess all those years at a Catholic school were so stifling for me. I still go to U.P. Diliman every now and then (even though it's about an hour's commute from where I live in Pasay City) to just sit somewhere in the Sunken Garden to reflect, think, be with nature (Metro Manila is a concrete jungle. The Sunken Garden is one of the few places I know where I could be closest to nature in this crazy metropolis.). Oh, and, I also go to U.P. to satisfy my craving for Mommy's Thai cooking at the Thai Canteen on Katipunan Ave. ("Mommy" is not *my* mother. Everyone just calls the Thai lady, the cook and owner of the small restaurant - Filipinos call such restaurants "carinderia" - "Mommy.") Official site of U.P.
