1995. I was working in what was then one of the Philippines' coolest fashion stores. It was a usual busy day - my feet were killing me, I wanted to get out of there (to do my schoolwork, which I was up to my ears with - not exactly a more tempting job, I know) but I couldn't (back then was the tough time for me and my family). Suddenly, the store's soundsystem caught my attention. Someone was singing "I'm broke but I'm happy/I'm poor but I'm kind...I'm young and I'm underpaid/I'm tired but I'm working, yeah."
My thoughts exactly, but it couldn't have been me singing (I couldn't sing my way out of a paper bag) - and sure enough, it wasn't. It was Alanis Morissette. I listened some more and was soon in awe. That was when and how I started to like her. Now, I love her. She's a brilliant, talented, gorgeous (like me! hehehe! but she is way, way more brilliant and talented) person. A kindred spirit, I believe. She's my official Spiritual Sister (I have other spiritual sisters, of course).

If I am obsessed with something, it has to be "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." I can relate well with both Lois Lane and Clark Kent. Like Lois, I was (sometimes, I still am) - to quote Teri Hatcher describing the character she played - "neurotic, all walls and defenses, difficulty in emotional areas of relationships." Like Clark, I could be sensitive, caring and kind. I guess I'm Lois and Clark in one person (again, the Cancer-Leo in me). Also, "Lois & Clark" (the show, not just the characters) provides me a model of a great relationship. Clark is just so sweet! "Superman, I need a Superman...Superman, where are you, Superman?" (from "Superman," one of Alanis's older songs when she was Canada's teen pop sensation)
Because "Lois & Clark" was cancelled in 1997, I suffer (still!) from Lois and Clark Withdrawal Syndrome (that's LCWS to FOLCs - Fans of Lois & Clark). For remedy, I visit FOLC sites, like
The Lois & Clark Haven is down! As in off the world wide web! As in non-existent! :( :( :( This is awful news for FoLCs like me!! For years we have relied on sites like the Lois & Clark Haven to help us not miss "Lois & Clark" so badly. What happened? Just click on the same link above and let Mary herself, webmaster of the Lois & Clark Haven, to tell you the entire sad and awful story. :( You can also jump to other Lois & Clark sites from there.
I'm not fortunate enough to get the same TNT programming here in the Philippines, unlike American FOLCs who can still watch reruns of "Lois & Clark" on that channel *everyday*. But, like most, if not all, FOLCs, I know lots of "Lois & Clark" scenes and dialogs by heart. Check out the link below for some of the best classic lines.
If I can't have Superman or Lois or Clark with me, I gotta have some of their stuff. That's why I often go to the Warner Bros. Studio Store.

I love to laugh my heart out. And one of the things that make me laugh so much is the Rugrats. Whenever I've had a rotten day, I'd just tune in to Nickelodeon to watch a couple of Rugrats episodes, which airs around 5 times a day. There was even a time when I'd wait for the midnight (now it's at 2 a.m.) airing just so I could get a good laugh - the only laugh I'd have in a single day, even though I had to get up early the next morning to go to work. Click on the cute picture above to go to the official Rugrats site, or the link below for the Rugrats Fan Club.
I absolutely love to read. There's no need to say more about this. I even love the smell of books! If you want to know what books I've read these past few months, go to
